Saiga Sporting Guns

Made in the Izmash factory using the same tooling as the current military production, these AK based sporting rifles have been designed for both hunting and practical rifle target shooting. There are variations in the firing system exported e.g. Semi automatic for the US market and Bolt action only for the UK and new Zealand.
The weapons differ from the standard military AK’s in several ways:
·
The firing selector switch is marked for either single shot and safe or semi automatic and safe.
·
Trigger mechanism parts may be different.
·
Weapons for the US are sold without the military flash hiders and the UK versions have a modified military one that no longer functions as it should.
·
Some versions will accept only special magazines .
·
Later rifles have an extra machining in the chamber which gives the fired cases a distinct shape (so that civilian weapons can be identified if used in crime)
·
The differences between the 104 and 103 barrels are shown here, note the aksu type muzzle brake on the 104
