The R-126 was first manufactured in 1962 and is a simple short range transceiver
for Squad and specialist roles. It has a power output of 1/2 watt and a range of
2 to 4 Km (1 -2.5 miles).
The R-126 has a frequency range of 48.5 to 51.0 MHz and comes is either preset controlled
(version 1 with 3 preset channels) or Continuous tune (version 2)
